0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Acid

Acid is a 3D based action puzzle game developed by ISCO and published by Taki, the game was released in Japan only in 1999

Psychotropic action puzzle game where players fire a pulse of light at psychedelic conundrums by charging the correct distance and aim, described as a golf game gone badly wrong and as a Great Tempest style visuals with kanji characters and neon tracers. A fine off kilter title well worth tuning in to.

The game features 3 difficulty levels easy, normal and hard as well as 3 games modes Story Mode, Free mode where the player can play any level and Vs Mode where the player can either play against the AI or another human player, unable to find out if there is an actual story to the story mode.

As with previous Japanese only releases reviews for Acid are hard to find so we head to the reliable user reviews over at GameFAQs where a total of 6 users have rated this game with an average rating of 3.17/5 with one user giving the game a full 5/5, a fairly significant drop to the next rating with 2 users giving the game a 3.5/5 with one user rating the game a 3/5, 2.5/5 and 1.5/5

This is the part of 0 to Z where is visit five online retailers and see what the availability of the title is, and what price you would be looking at if you wanted to pick this title up, the sites that I will be using for this are Amazon.com,  eStarland.com, retrogames.co.uk and Gamedude.com I know the last one is very location specific but from a podcast I listen to and  I have heard they have a huge stock of older games, I will also be including Ebay.com as well

So lets get down to business with Gamedude who unsurprisingly don’t stock this Japanese only title likewise Retrogames.co.uk and eStarland don/t stock the game either so we switch to Amazon.com where I have been unable to find a copy of the game either, so we head to out last hope.

Ebay.com has the game available only 3 copies however the first a good quality used copy is up for sale at $7.99 however the shipping costs are more than the game coming in at $13.50, the second copy another used copy this one in very good condition is on the market for $15 with $5.90 for shipping so just over $20.

The 3rd and final copy on sale is a brand new copy of the game which comes in cheaper than a used copy with an $8 initial price with $4.00 shipping cost, additional note all three of these copies are Japanese imports and will only work on a Japanese console.
