0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Actua Ice Hockey 2

Actua Ice Hockey 2 is a hockey based sports game that was developed and published by Gremlin Interactive, unlike the previous Actua Ice Hockey this game was released only in Europe, and was released on April 1st 1999 and was one of the last games developed by the Sheffield studio with them being consumed by Infogrames in 1999.

Unlike the previous years game there is no Olympic themed competition, in Actua Ice Hockey 2 instead you have a competition called the Gremlin Hockey League with a playoff at the end of the season as well, players can also play custom tournaments spanning a total of 31 games as well as exhibition matches and practice matches where you can practice you penalties, breakaways and powerplays.

While the game does not contain licensed teams or players the teams are inspired by their NHL counter parts and like other non licensed sports games they use the trick of replacing the odd letter in a persons name to make their name sound like the licensed name.

This is the part of 0 to Z where is visit five online retailers and see what the availability of the title is, and what price you would be looking at if you wanted to pick this title up, the sites that I will be using for this are Amazon.com,  eStarland.com, retrogames.co.uk and Gamedude.com I know the last one is very location specific but from a podcast I listen to and  I have heard they have a huge stock of older games, I will also be including Ebay.com as well

So lets get down to business with Gamedude, Retrogames and eStarland with neither of these outlets stocking the game in either used or new form so we head to Amazon.co.uk where there are fair few copies on the market, with a very good quality used copy being available for £2.36 which converts to $3.05 in the US in the Euro zone it will cost you 2.58 while it will cost 1693.22 West African CFA Franc’s this copy comes with free deliver.

A new copy of the game can be picked up for £3.94 which comes with a £3.99 delivery charge in the UK, Amazon also has three copies of the German version of the game with a good quality version of the game available for a few pence short of £10 when you add in the delivery charge, once again there is the over priced copy on sale at £55.70.

Ebay.com has a few copies for sale this first copy is a complete copy with case, cover, manual and disc and will set you back $5.83 this also comes with free international shipping so would cost 3234.98 West African CFA Franc’s, in the Euro region it would cost 4.93, and in the UK it would cost £4.49, there are several other copies on sale but with the added cost of shipping none are as cheap as this copy
