0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Animal Football

Information is hard to find on Animal Football is definitely far from a football game developed by The Code Monkeys and published by Phoenix Games, the game is similar to the previously covered Anastasia with the game featuring a animated cartoon, puzzles and images to colour, the game was released late in the Playstation 1s life cycle coming out on the 26th of July, 2003 exclusively in Europe

The only two gameplay aspects in the game is a colouring section and a small jigsaw and sliding block puzzle which is far from taxing with the sliding puzzle just 8 pieces in total

The animated cartoon by Dingo Productions that comes with the game is atrocious there is quite possibly a riveting story being told but the abysmal animations and voice acting saw me sit through about a minute of it before I had enough of it.

This being a very late release in the Playstations life and reviews for this game are next to impossible to find, so we head over to GameFAQs for their user data, with the game currently sitting on 1.8/5 from a total of 5 user ratings.

With the game receiving a maximum rating of 3.5/5 from one user another couple of users rated the game at either a 2.5/5 or a 2/5, with the two remaining users rating the game at just a 0.5/5, moving on to the games difficulty we have an even spread of difficulty rating from the four users that rated this category with one each rating the game as simple, easy, just right and tough.

Moving on to difficulty we have a decent spread from the eleven users that rated this category, with one user each rating the game as either simple or tough, another couple of users rated the game as easy while the majority rated the game as having just the right difficulty.

On to the games lifespan with just 3 users rating the game with one each spending either one hour or two hours with the game, the third user seemed to like this game spending eight hours with it.

This is the part of 0 to Z where is visit four online retailers and see what the availability of the title is, and what price you would be looking at if you wanted to pick this title up, the sites that I will be using for this are Amazon.com, eStarland.com, retrogames.co.uk and Gamedude.com I know the last one is very location specific, but from a podcast I listen to, I’ve heard they have a huge stock of older games, Ebay has now been dropped unless the game is unavailable at other retailers.

So lets get down to business with Gamedude who unsurprisingly do not stock this Europe only release along with Retrogames.co.uk, eStarland.com and Amazon.com as well, so we head over to Amazon.co.uk where we find the game is currently unavailable, Ebay.com currently has no copies of the Playstation 1 version of the game available either at the time of writing.
