0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - 70s Robot Anime: Geppy-X
70s Robot Anime: Geppy-X is
an anime style side scrolling action shooter game, developed and published by
Aroma, which was released only in Japan on May 27th, 1999
70s Robot Anime: Geppy-X
is an anime shooter that is humorously set up like a TV show with intro theme
songs and commercial breaks. You control 6 different robots, each with a main
weapon and a secondary weapon. Your robot is capable of a super attack when
your power gauge fills up.
The game is parody of the 70s
Super Robot anime shows the game takes up a massive 4 discs with the story
revolving hero Kei alongside Jin and Riki and their allies who face off against
the invading forces of the space devil empire and their massive legions of
Space Beasts.
The games story is set up
like an actual anime with an open theme to before the start of each level. Anime
style cutscenes as well as stock footage the game also includes commercial
breaks between missions like a real tv show.
Once again a real lack of reviews for this game as a result
we once again head to GameFAQs for the user ratings, 70s Robot Anime: Geppy-X has so far received 29 user reviews averaging a
rating of 3.81/5, overall a pretty well received game with 31% giving the game
a full 5/5 the same number awarded the
game a 4/5, with the majority of ratings coming in at 3.5/5 and 4.5/5 however
there were some blips in the games reception with 13.79% awarding the game only
0.5/5.
This is the part of 0 to Z where
is visit five online retailers and see what the availability of the title is,
and what price you would be looking at if you wanted to pick this title up, the
sites that I will be using for this are Amazon.com, eStarland.com,
retrogames.co.uk and Gamedude.com I know the last one is very location specific
but from a podcast I listen to and I
have heard they have a huge stock of older games, I will also be including
Ebay.com as well
So lets get down to business with Gamedude
who sadly don’t stock this game no surprise seeing as this is a Japan only
release likewise Retrogames.co.uk and eStarland don’t stock the game as well,
so lets switch focus to Amazon.com and get your wallets out this is going to be
pricy.
