0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Region Guide

When buying games online from sites like Amazon.com and Ebay,com it is important to know what region the game is from, thankfully for newer consoles region locking is a thing of the past, however for older consoles like the Playstation 1 region locking is a serious hurdle.

There are four regions for video games the above image shows the four regions and the countries or regions that each covers. to find the region of a game you are interested in look on the front cover of the game see the two images below the region is circled in red, the cover designs are slightly different for each region however the region code is located in the same general area.

The first of the three covers is for a Japanese game the second is for a North American release and the final cover is for a PAL release.
