0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Army Men World War Team Assault

Army Men World War Team Assault or just Army Men: Team Assault in PAL regions is the fourth entry In the World War sub series of Army Men games released on the Playstation, the game is a 3rd person action shooter and as with previous entries in the series the game was published by The 3DO Company.

The game however was not developed by The 3DO Company, Nevada based 5000ft Inc would develop the game with it releasing first in North America on the 28th of November 2001 with a European release two days later on the 30th of November 2001.

The main campaign for the game consists of 16 stages each featuring the usual Army Men style missions such as, destroying a specific object like a bridge to escaping from a POW camp. Before beginning each mission the player has the choice of 2 of the six playable commandos in the game to take into that specific mission.

Each of the commandos have their owns stats resulting in each commando being more useful in specific situations in addition to their own specialities they have stats for speed, stealth and hit points. During the course of a stage the player is able to switch between the two commandos as well as some stages featuring heavy weapons such as tanks, aircraft artillery and submarines.

In addition to the main single player campaign mode the boot camp, which is called training in this release returns which allows the player to get use to the controls and weapons of the game, as well as the usual 2 player mode with players able to play Capture the Flag and Grudge Match.

The long running war between the Green and Tan armies has grown to a halt, both armies are at an impasse with neither army having the capability to deal the final blow and end their enemies resistance. The Tan army resort to developing weapons of mass destruction.

The Green army put together a crack team of commandos to stop the Tan’s plan for the mass destruction of the green army this crack team consists of the silent but deadly Xhado, the savvy mechanic and heavy weapons specialists Dante Hernandex, the explosives and communications expert Armand "Flambé" Nestor.

Another expert in explosives with a side speciality in linguistics we have Bjorn "Boomer" Thorson, taking headshots from a mile away is your teams sniper Gib "Squirrel" Farrell, and rounding off your team is your heavy weapons specialist Tyke "The Tank" Morgan.
