0 to Z of Playstation 1 Games - Actua Soccer Club Edition
Actua Soccer Club Edition is
a football based sports game and is the second release in the Actua Soccer
series and was a spin off of the original Actua Soccer, the game was developed
and published by Gremlin Interactive and was released exclusively in Europe in
May of 1997 the game was released on Playstation 1, DOS and the Sega Saturn
The game is for the most part just a re-release of the
original Actua Soccer from 1995 with one major change the game now includes all
twenty teams from the 96/97 Premier League season, with 20 players making up
each squad, the game allowed you to play through the entire season in search of
championship glory, the game also features new commentary recorded for the game
from Barry Davies.

Reviews for this game are hard to come by but a couple have
survived the test of time, starting with Absolute PlayStation who gave Actua
Soccer Club Edition a solid 8/10, as stated before this site no longer exists
so what they said about the game is long gone.
Computer & Video Games UK were far from generous with
their score though, giving the game a lowly 3/10 again this site closed back in
2014 and the review is lost, as a result of this low score Actua Soccer Club
Edition is sitting at an average rating of 55% on Gamerankings.com.
For some for data we head to GameFAQs for their user
ratings, where a total of 9 users have rated this game, with the title
currently sitting at an average user rating of 3.22/5, with a majority giving
the game a 3/5, a couple of users were slightly more generous giving the game a
4/5, the remaining two users giving the game a 2.5/5 and a 3.5/5 respectively.
When it comes to the games lifespan there is a real mix of
play time with this game ranging from 8 hours all the way up to 80+ hours the
average from six users is around the 30 hour mark.
This is the part of 0 to Z where
is visit five online retailers and see what the availability of the title is,
and what price you would be looking at if you wanted to pick this title up, the
sites that I will be using for this are Amazon.com, eStarland.com,
retrogames.co.uk and Gamedude.com I know the last one is very location specific,
but from a podcast I listen to I’ve heard they have a huge stock of older games, I
will also be including Ebay.com as well
So lets get down to business with Gamedude
and alongside eStarland.com it is no surprise this UK only release is not
available on these sites, so we head to Retrogames.co.uk and they have a copy
of this game available for the Playstation 1, it is a complete copy of the game
in excellent condition, and it will set you back just £4. this converts to
$5.20 in the US, in the Euro region it will cost you €4.40, and in
Turkmenistan it will cost you 18.20 Turkmenistani Manat.
Heading over to Amazon.co.uk,
there are not heaps of copies on sale, but they are very reasonably priced with
a used copy in very good condition priced at £3 with £1.14 for shipping, this
also comes with a 12 month guarantee which is a nice addition.
Currently there are no new copies
of the game on sale at Amazon, there is however a used like new copy, this copy
has been professionally cleaned and comes with free delivery and is priced at
£9.28 this converts to 42.23 Turkmenistani Manat, in the Euro region it will
cost €10.21, and in the US it will set you back $12.07, again
this is a Europe only released game and needs a PAL system to work.
Moving to Ebay.com and a copy of
the game can be picked up for around the £3 to £4 mark this price is with the
shipping costs added, a good number of copies on the market and many are
reasonably priced, with several offering free international shipping.
