Contrail was a Japanese
production company and a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment between 1997
and 2000 with the company overseeing the development of several games during it’s
3 years in business including Wild Arms and Legend of Legaia being the two most
notable titles.

The company was
headed up by Takahiro Kaneko who was the producer on Wild Arms, in 1996 a year
later he would be the producer on the critically well received Alundra and a
couple of year later would produce the Wild Arms sequel in 1999, a decade later
Kaneko would become the executive producer for Demon’s Souls.
Contrail’s final game
which they helped produce was released in mid 2000 adventure game Boku no
Natsuyasumi, a Japanese only release revolved around the player taking control
of a 9 year old boy who has been sent to his aunt and uncles in the
countryside, with the game focussing on exploration and task such as collecting
bottle caps, flying kites and catching bugs which the player can pit against
each other.
